The Benefits of A Card Access System

By: Jillian Leigh

A smart card access system may be the cheapest way to guard your interests. Folks are prepared to pay out lots of money for security to protect their firms from outside sources and often even the internal sources. To have the best cutting edge security will cost more than you are prepared or able to pay for. However, there are affordable ways to protect your company.

These kinds of security systems are fantastic when you cannot have a genuine person in position. Or they may be employed to free up staff to do other things, until the system alerts them that there's a problem that needs human response.

The access cards, door controls, card readers and software are the key components of every card access system. Without reference to the size of your business, this security prevention system will serve your requirements beyond your expectancies.

A card access system is easily scalable to any size business. It can used to monitor one door or it can handle multiple buildings and the all the doors in those buildings. You have the option of using the card system to allow or reject access to workstations, too.

It does not matter if you have three workers or 3,000 employees, they can all be managed with little effort. When an employee separates from a company, it is not likely that any one, including their chairperson, will remember what they access to. Their complete access can be revoke all at the same time so that there isn't the worry of pissed off worker returning to the property. As workers are promoted, enabling them access to additional departments will be just as simple.

Another benefit to using a card access system is that the software is highly compatible with payroll software. Employees will not have to fill out time sheets or punch a time card. This will also reduce any disputes when someone arrived or left their position. And it eliminates any issues of employees fudging time sheets or having employees punching each other out at the end of the day. This should also reduce the number of people needed for payroll functions.

You get the upgraded version that includes smart cards which will not only dictate access to physical access but network access too. IT departments all have the same issues when it comes to potential security issues. Employees often won't log off their workstations at the end of the day. This permits some other person to easily access our company's sensitive documents and files.

Another big security concern is employees not remembering their own passwords. This causes staff to draft their passwords down and leave them in plain view. Or employees end up locking themselves out of their accounts and need their passwords reset. Both eventualities can be potential security breeches. A card access system will resolve all three of these issues relating to network access. This system resolves so many issues, aside from unlocking a door, it is almost critical to have a security measure like this.
